Jose Mourinho asserts that his current side are capable of challenging for the league title in many countries across Europe.
Currently ranked second in the standings, Tottenham have been one of the best performing teams early in the Premier League season.
The Lillywhites scraped past West Brom on Sunday, recording their third straight victory in the English top-flight.
Only once were they found on the wrong end of a scoreline this season when they narrowly lost out against Everton on opening day.
Spurs, with their consistency and form, have presented themselves as strong contenders in the title race. Many are even backing them to go all the way and end their trophy drought in a season which seems to have no clear favorite for the league crown.
Jose Mourinho, however, feels the competition in England is just too hot to handle and is not entirely convinced that his side can lift the Premier League trophy.
“I would say that this team could be champion in many European countries,” said Mourinho, as per Football London.
“So you can have a good season and not be champion [in the Premier League]. So what can we do? We go match after match. We try to win, we don’t care about the others.
“The Premier League is the most difficult one to be, because in the Premier League you can do a good season, can have lots of points, but in the end…Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, Man United, Leicester, Arsenal.
“So I don’t care, I just want the team to play match after match, and then at the end of the season let’s see where we are.”
