After a disastrous draw against West Ham, Jose Mourinho refused to accept that Tottenham lacks the winning mentality.

Jose Mourinho mentioned that Tottenham needs improvement in the defensive line after their draw vs West Ham.

Subsequently, Tottenham missed the golden opportunity to shift to the third spot in the Premier League. Evidently, the north London side managed to concede after their 3-0 goal cushion to the Hammers.

In the first 16 minutes, Tottenham put two goals in the back of West Ham’s net with the help of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. David Moyes’ men struggled to keep up with Mourinho’s attacking style.

However, West Ham’s game came to life in the second after Tottenham’s lead.

The visitors put pressure on Mourinho’s side late in the second half and were rewarded handsomely. Eventually, Fabian Balbuena directed a header to pull one back for West Ham in the 82nd minute.

Moments later, in turn of unfortunate events, Davidson Sanchez scored an own goal. Although, the Hammers managed to display mindblowing performance with the equaliser.

Manuel Lanzini came off the bench to hit a mesmerizing strike from 35 yards in the right-top corner.

Aim to win.

Furthermore, Mourinho received questions regarding his attitude towards the game after the result.

Though, the Portuguese boss denied all the criticism quickly ahead of their Europa League fixture against LASK.

He told a press conference: “I believe that winning 3-0 in minute 80 we can play 50 more matches and it’s not going to happen again so I don’t want to be sticking on this and no stories about ‘Spursy’ and this kind of thing.

“We just need to defend better from set-pieces. We’ve conceded just one goal from open play against Southampton.”

In addition, Mourinho discussed Danny Rose’s omission from Tottenham’s team roster for Premier League.

He revealed that the defender is not a part of his masterplan for the club after his request to move out in the transfer window.

“Danny is not part of our squad. Danny wanted very, very much to leave in the January window last season. Why? Because he wanted to play and play and play,” he said.

“Then he went to Newcastle and I immediately had the feeling of being a player of his dimension that, thinking about Euros, I thought our future would be Davies and Sessegnon.

“Then we had the possibility to get Reguilon and I thought that would be a good opportunity for Ryan to get game time and develop.

“With Danny, the players and agents make the market. If the agent didn’t find a solution for Danny to move then it’s a question you have to ask him.”

Additionally, Mourinho commented on the arrival of Joe Rodon from Swansea last week.

“We got him because we can see a future for him. Let’s work and let’s see the evolution and step by step he will be there,” he said.
