Mourinho brings a Portuguese midfielder to Roma

Jose Mourinho has found a Portuguese talent for improving his midfield unit at Roma ahead of a difficult Serie A campaign.

Jose Mourinho has signed a Portuguese midfielder for Roma on loan from Porto. Yes, Sergio Oliveira has moved to the Serie A club on a loan deal.

Mourinho’s side are paying a transfer fee worth €1.5 million for the 29-year-old playmaker. In addition, the agreement denotes a six-month contract with an option to purchase at the end of the season for a fee of €13 million.

Following his signing, Oliveira told Roma’s official website: “It’s amazing to be here at this great club.”

“Roma have always shown a real interest in me. And now I want to try and immediately help the team to achieve all its targets. And continue to develop the right mentality.”

“I am certain that my new teammates, alongside whom I cannot wait to start working. Will help me continue to improve too.”

Mourinho and his men are currently standing on the seventh spot in the Italian top-flight. They are 17 points behind league leaders Inter Milan. And the Portuguese tactician hopes to improve the situation sooner.
