Following a poor domestic run, Spurs bounced back in style as they recorded their biggest home league win since December 2019.

Jose Mourinho was thrilled to see Tottenham put in a “very positive performance” against Burnley in the Premier League.

Gareth Bale, Harry Kane, and Lucas Moura were all on target as Tottenham ran riot against Burnley.

Bale, who looked at this absolute best for the first time in a long while, hit a brace and also set Kane up while Moura prodded home from Sergio Reguilon’s cross into the box.

Mourinho’s side had suffered five defeats in their previous six Premier League outings, and the 4-0 victory on Sunday eased some pressure off of the Portuguese manager.

“Good performance, solid performance. Easy…not easy but when you score a goal in minute two or three the situation gets a bit easier,” the Spurs boss told post-match, via Football London.

“To be 3-0 at half-time also important but Burnley is the kind of team that demands the best from you until the last second, because it doesn’t matter the result, they go, they go and they go until the end.

“So I’m happy with the result, with the clean sheet, with the three points and the performance was very positive.”
