The Tottenham manager was feeling far from sympathetic over his rivals’ plight over their congested fixture schedules.

Jose Mourinho fired a dig at managers, like Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, to have complained about the congested schedule of fixtures by pointing out nobody ‘was crying or supporting’ Tottenham during their tough start to the season.

The Lilywhites began the campaign with eight games in only 18 days from fixtures in the Premier League, Europa League, and Carabao Cup. More clubs, however, have recently suffered like Spurs did.

One such name is Liverpool, who have lost several key players to injuries already this season. Reds boss Klopp has, therefore, called for the games to be spread out in a more appropriate manner – instead of one every few days.

“By the way, we played four matches in one week and nobody was crying or supporting us about it. And now my colleagues, when do they play these matches?” said Mourinho as quoted on the Mirror.

Despite Spurs being ahead in the standings, clubs like Manchester United and Manchester City hold a game in hand over the Premier League leaders due to having matches pushed back due to their involvement in the Europa League and Champions League respectively in August.

“What is very difficult to accept is that four clubs have one match less than the others and I don’t even know when they’re going to play these matches,” Mourinho continued.

“I don’t even know when Burnley, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Manchester United and probably Newcastle and Aston Villa twice [are going to play].

“It’s difficult to accept that because it can affect the competition. But I was trying to know. I was trying for an answer this week and no one can give me that answer.”
