A close victory at Turf Moor against Burnley has boosted the spirit of Lucas Moura, who aims to achieve EFL Cup glory with Tottenham.

Lucas Moura intends to grab his hands over the EFL Cup following Tottenham’s victory against Burnley on Wednesday night.

The Argentine’s only goal at Turf Moor allowed the north London side to qualify to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Moura was brought on in the first half as Bryan Gil was sent to the sidelines after an injury. The fresh substitution made the difference in the 68th minute as he headed home the winner of the clash.

And now that Manchester City is out of contention, Moura is hungry for lifting a major silverware with Spurs.

“Why not? It is another opportunity to get a trophy,” he said. “It is a short way to get a trophy and we will fight.”

“My objective is to get a trophy, always be a champion. We will fight for this and always give our best and the Carabao Cup is a good opportunity for us.”

Tottenham have been struggling to shoot in the second half, which happened during Sunday’s defeat at West Ham, and also at Burnley yesterday. And Moura feels that the team should put effort into that aspect of the game.

“We need to improve on this point, to finish the action more,” he said. “We did well against West Ham, but they defended well and it was very difficult to penetrate and finish the action well.”

“But we controlled the game and had more possession. Sometimes we need to show our talents more individually, that is what I tried to do when I came in today. I tried to help the team, create some opportunities and create some space and it was good.”
