Wayne Rooney chooses his next club after Derby exit

Kicking off today’s transfer news are reports of Wayne Rooney agreeing to become the next D.C. United manager.

The 36-year-old is a free agent after ending an 18-month spell at Derby County in the English Championship. He has been in talks with D.C. United for ‘weeks’ and has now accepted personal terms. For the move to become official, the paperwork needs to be completed first and he must also get a work visa.

Rooney, who played for the Black and Red for 15 months as a player between 2018 and 2019, will replace the fired Hernan Losada. [The Athletic]

Bayern & Juventus to enter De Ligt talks

Bayern Munich look to lodge a transfer bid for Matthijs de Ligt when they meet with Juventus later this week.
