Wayne Rooney chooses his next club after Derby exit
Kicking off today’s transfer news are reports of Wayne Rooney agreeing to become the next D.C. United manager.
The 36-year-old is a free agent after ending an 18-month spell at Derby County in the English Championship. He has been in talks with D.C. United for ‘weeks’ and has now accepted personal terms. For the move to become official, the paperwork needs to be completed first and he must also get a work visa.
Rooney, who played for the Black and Red for 15 months as a player between 2018 and 2019, will replace the fired Hernan Losada. [The Athletic]
Ousmane Dembele accepts new Barcelona deal

Bayern & Juventus to enter De Ligt talks
Bayern Munich look to lodge a transfer bid for Matthijs de Ligt when they meet with Juventus later this week.
The 22-year-old defender has been on the radar of several clubs recently. However, upon hearing of interest from Bayern, he is allegedly eager to join the Bundesliga champions. He has a release clause of €125 million in his Juventus contract. [Gianluca Di Marzio – in Italian]
Arsenal & Man Utd eye deal for Southampton star
Arsenal and Manchester United are both interested in signing Southampton right-back Kyle Walker-Peters.

Barcelona’s Silva hopes hinge on De Jong
If Frenkie de Jong doesn’t leave Camp Nou this summer, Barcelona won’t make a move for Bernardo Silva.
Manchester City want a transfer fee of around €100 million for Silva. The 27-year-old midfielder is an important part of Pep Guardiola’s squad. Kane-Bayern Munich rumors are false
Harry Kane is not a target for Bayern Munich despite speculation suggesting otherwise.
