Manchester United ‘confident’ of Varane deal
The Raphael Varane transfer saga could soon be over as Manchester United grow more ‘confident’ of a deal.
The Red Devils plan to launch an official bid to Real Madrid in the next few days. Negotiations between the two sides have sped up, leaving United optimistic. The deal on offer is reportedly worth around €45 million.
United are the only club in contention for Varane, who wants a new challenge away from Spain. The Frenchman, who is billed as a ‘dream’ partner for Harry Maguire in defense, won’t sign a new contract at Real Madrid. He has almost reached a full agreement with United on personal terms. Lukaku is not for sale
Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta has seemingly ended Chelsea’s rumored pursuit of Romelu Lukaku.
Marotta announced to Mediaset over the weekend that Inter have no plans to sell their star striker.

Dortmund on the brink of signing Sancho replacement
Borussia Dortmund are on the verge of completing a €30 million deal for Donyell Malen.
With Jadon Sancho having joined Manchester United, Malen will become a direct replacement for the Englishman. The PSV Eindhoven forward just needs to have his medical now.

Tottenham and Sevilla on the verge of sealing swap deal
Tottenham have moved one step closer to signing 20-year-old Bryan Gil from Sevilla.
The Londoners have offered Sevilla around €25 million-plus add-ons and Erik Lamela for the winger. Lamela is keen on the deal, with the 29-year-old hopeful a move to Spain will revive his career. [Marca]
PSG hold talks with Koulibaly’s agent
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly held talks with Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent, Fali Ramadani, over a summer transfer.
Koulibaly is apparently keen to leave Napoli. PSG, on the other hand, view him as an ideal signing to improve their defense. The Parisians reckon he would make a superb partner for Sergio Ramos and possibly Marquinhos in a three-man defense. [Corriere dello Sport – in Italian]
