Manchester City to call off Kane move?

After launching a £100 million transfer bid for Jack Grealish, Manchester City may have to do without Harry Kane.

The Premier League champions are closing in on a deal to sign Grealish from Aston Villa. The move hinges on whether the 25-year-old wants to join. If he does, a transfer should be possible.

Signing Grealish, however, means a deal for Kane will no longer be ‘financially viable’. The England captain, therefore, could stay put at Tottenham unless City make some significant player sales. [MEN]

Benitez shows James the door at Everton

Rafael Benitez has reportedly told James Rodriguez that he doesn’t fit into his plans and is free to leave Everton.

Despite rating James’ abilities, Benitez allegedly feels the playmaker isn’t pulling his weight – especially as the club’s highest earner at over £200,000-a-week. The Blues boss also has concerns over his fitness and injury record. [Liverpool Echo]
