Liverpool & Barcelona consider shock striker swap deal

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino and Barcelona attacker Memphis Depay might swap clubs in the January transfer window.

Both players will become free agents in 2023 when their respective contracts expire at the end of this season. So rather than lose them for nothing, Liverpool and Barcelona are open to a potential swap deal. [Diario Sport]

Foden closes in on lucrative Man City deal

Manchester City have reached an agreement in principle with Phil Foden over a new six-year contract.

The 22-year-old midfielder could earn around £250,000-a-week, which would bring the total value of the new deal to about £78 million. This can put him in line with City’s best paid-players, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland. [Football Insider]

Juventus are keen on signing Benfica left-back Alex Grimaldo.

Arsenal monitor the ‘next Luka Modric’

The Gunners have sent scouts to watch Croatian midfielder Lovro Majer, dubbed as ‘the next Luka Modric’.

The 24-year-old midfielder is in his second season at Rennes after joining the Ligue 1 club in a €12 million transfer from Dinamo Zagreb last year. He has made 44 appearances to date, managing 7 goals and 11 assists. [Daily Mail]

Chelsea enter advanced talks for £30m wonderkid

The Blues are in advanced transfer talks with Fulham for 17-year-old midfielder Luke Harris.
