Chelsea in direct contact for €90m-rated star
The Blues are in direct contact with Sevilla regarding a possible summer transfer for Jules Kounde, whose release clause has reportedly increased from €80 million to €90 million.
Of course, Chelsea’s interest in Kounde is no secret. It’s been out in the open for most of the summer. Trevoh Chalobah may have impressed in defense recently, but Thomas Tuchel still wants to add another proven defender to his ranks.
With the transfer window to close on August 31, Chelsea must make an offer soon. Sevilla won’t sell Kounde in the last few days of this month. The Blues must also resolve Kurt Zouma’s future amid interest from West Ham. [Fabrizio Romano]
Manchester City to make a final move for Kane
Despite coming on as a substitute in Tottenham’s 1-0 win at Wolves, Harry Kane’s future remains unclear.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy remains determined to keep his star striker, although head coach Nuno Espirito Santo couldn’t offer any guarantees Kane would be available for selection again this week.
Now Manchester City will table another transfer offer for Kane this week in what is believed to be their last attempt to sign the England captain. [Telegraph]
Zappacosta to swap Chelsea for Atalanta
Davide Zappacosta is on course to end a four-year spell with Chelsea by joining Atalanta.
The right-back has made just 52 appearances for Chelsea since his €25 million arrival from Torino in August 2017. He has spent the last two seasons on loan at Serie A clubs Roma and Genoa.

Shaqiri agrees to Lyon move
Lyon have confirmed an agreement in principle to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Liverpool on a permanent deal.
The French side will reportedly pay Liverpool a transfer fee of €12 million once all the contracts are signed. Shaqiri will travel to France in the next few days to undergo medical tests. The Swiss winger has agreed on personal terms already for a three-year contract. [Lyon]
Nuno eyes Traore reunion at Tottenham
Former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly keen to reunite with Adama Traore at Tottenham.
