Chelsea enter the race for £50m-rated Premier League winger

The Blues will rival Newcastle United for Everton winger Anthony Gordon ahead of the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

Allegedly, Chelsea have already been in talks with Everton over a potential deal for the 21-year-old. An agreement, however, won’t come cheap. Everton are hopeful of a £50 million transfer fee.

Gordon, who has managed four goals and eight assists in 62 games for the Toffees, is under contract at Goodison Park until June 2025. [Independent]

Man Utd join Arsenal in the race for Caicedo

Manchester United have entered the transfer race for Brighton defensive midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The 21-year-old Ecuadorian caught the eye of Erik ten Hag during the new United manager’s first Premier League match against Brighton at Old Trafford, which the Red Devils lost 2-1.

London-based Premier League clubs Arsenal and West Ham United are also interested in Caicedo. [Mirror]

Could Borja swap Chelsea for Everton?

Everton are interested in signing Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

As Dominic Calvert-Lewin is out with injury, Everton have identified Broja as an ideal replacement. Chelsea, though, are reluctant to do a permanent transfer deal, even if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrives from Barcelona. They would prefer to send Borja out on loan instead.

The 20-year-old Albanian, who came on as a substitute during the Blues’ 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Sunday, is undecided on whether he fancies another season out on loan. [CBS]

Barcelona shortlist five right-back targets

Jeremie Frimpong, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Juan Foyth, Diogo Dalot, and Thomas Meunier are the five right-back targets on Barcelona’s shortlist.

Despite a summer ladened with expensive signings, Barcelona are far from done. The Blaugrana still intend to spend more cash. They have identified the right-back position as an area to strengthen.

Out of the five above-mentioned candidates, Barca favor Foyth and Meunier as their preferred right-backs. Signing Foyth from Villarreal would cost a €25 million fee, while Borussia Dortmund will expect €10-12 million for Meunier. [Gerard Romero – Twitch]

Inter respond to PSG’s interest in Skriniar

Inter Milan intend to keep defender Milan Skriniar despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Reports have linked Skriniar with a big-money transfer to PSG all summer, but Inter appear not so keen on a sale. Manager Simone Inzaghi wants to keep the 27-year-old, who played 87 minutes of the club’s 2-1 opening day victory over Leece in Serie A on Saturday. [Gazzetta dello Sport – in Italian]
