Barcelona target two Arsenal strikers
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are both reportedly on Barcelona’s transfer radar.
Ronald Koeman’s side are keeping tabs on both forwards. Arsenal would consider a sale for either player, including a swap deal. But first Barcelona would need to sell Martin Braithwaite for a significant fee before making a move for Aubameyang or Lacazette. [Sport]
Mbappe rejects PSG contract offer
Despite Lionel Messi’s arrival, Kylian Mbappe has no plans to renew his contract at Paris Saint-Germain. He has reportedly rejected a six-year contract offer that would’ve earned him a similar salary to Neymar.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and head coach Mauricio Pochettino are both aware that Mbappe intends to leave once his contract expires next summer.
Real Madrid are strong favorites to sign Mbappe and could make an offer for this summer. The club’s president Florentino Perez intends to wait for the tension between the striker and PSG to reach a boiling point. He could then make a proposal to Al-Khelaifi to take Mbappe off his hands. No Champions League, no Tottenham for Torres
Tottenham’s failure to qualify for the Champions League last season is a big turnoff for Pau Torres.
The 24-year-old defender has, therefore, turned down a move to the Premier League side in favor of continuing at Villarreal, who will compete in Europe’s biggest club competition this season. [Marca – in Spanish]
Abraham arrives in Italy for Roma medical
Tammy Abraham arrived in Italy on Sunday ahead of his €40 million (£34m) transfer to AS Roma.
After falling out of favor under Thomas Tuchel, Abraham has decided to leave Stamford Bridge. The striker will sign a five-year contract at Roma that will earn him around €3.5m (£3m) per season after tax. Chelsea have a buy-back clause worth €80m for the 23-year-old, which becomes active on June 2023. [The Guardian]
Liverpool to send Davies out on loan
Ben Davies is reportedly on his way off to Sheffield United on a season-long loan deal.
After failing to feature for Liverpool at all since his arrival in January, Davies will return to the Championship. The Reds, though, intend to welcome him back to Anfield next season [Daily Mail]
