Despite his struggles to get into the team, Mohamed Elneny is happy at Arsenal and has no plans of going to another club.

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has affirmed his heartfelt desire to conclude his footballing journey with the club, stating that he wants to retire as a Gunner.

Elneny has been a loyal servant to Arsenal since his €12.5 million arrival from FC Basel in January 2016. He is currently the longest-serving player in the squad. His contract, initially set to conclude at the end of the last season, saw a short-term renewal after he suffered a severe knee injury in January 2023.

Expressing his loyalty, Elneny stated to the Evening Standard, “Arsenal football club, they know I love them 100 per cent, so much. They know I don’t want to leave. I want to stay and finish my career there, 100 per cent.”

On when the club awarded him a new deal, he said: “It was one of the happiest days in my life. The way they spoke to me, the way the entire club was happy about this decision, they made me cry this day.”

Elneny added that he envisions playing football until he is 37 or 36 years old.

The 31-year-old has made a single appearance for Arsenal this season, which came in the EFL Cup as a substitute.
