The Mexican star is on the verge of leaving Napoli this summer.

Hirving Lozano has reportedly turned down a move to Saudi Arabia, opting instead for a surprising destination in Major League Soccer (MLS).

Lozano, currently with Napoli, has one year remaining on his contract, and the Serie A champions are keen to cash in on the versatile attacker rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next year.

Saudi Arabian clubs had shown interest in securing Lozano’s services, following the trend of attracting high-profile players to the league. However, according to Corriere dello Sport, the 27-year-old has chosen to pursue a move to the United States and join LAFC.

Despite being an integral part of the Napoli squad in recent years, Lozano struggled to match the performances of star players Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia during the 2022-23 season. As a result, the Italian club is open to his departure and is reportedly willing to accept offers in the region of $25 million.

Following his $46 million move from PSV Eindhoven in 2019, Lozano became a crucial player in Napoli’s squad. The Mexico international helped the Blues win the Coppa Italia in 2019-20 and claim a historic Serie A title last season. The 27-year-old has made 155 appearances across all competitions for Napoli, scoring 30 goals in the process.
