The Milan manager is delighted to see Theo Hernandez receiving a new deal from the club.

Since his move from Real Madrid in 2019, Theo Hernandez has established himself as one of the best left-back of Serie at Milan. With his former deal running until 2024, several top clubs showed interest in signing the French defender.

However, the Rossoneri secured Hernandez’s stay by giving him a new contract until the end of the 2025-26 campaign. Milan manager Stefano Pioli believes the 24-year-old’s renewal shows the club’s determination to find their way back into Europe’s elite clubs.

“It’s a beautiful sign of a club that has a vision for the present and the future,” the Milan boss said (via SportsMax).

“Theo’s renewal is an important signal for the whole environment. Having players who feel this sense of belonging and a club that thinks about the present and the future is symbolic of a club that wants to return to the highest level.”

Pioli’s side are in a tight Serie A title race as they fight to win the club’s first Scudetto since 2011. The experienced manager praises his players for their improved maturity over the past year.

“I am absolutely convinced that, beyond the other matches, the team is much more aware and mature than it was a year ago,” he added.

“But it is normal that this is so. We are very young, but we have gone through many experiences, and we have grown.

“We know that every game has an important specific weight and we will have to approach them with great attention. The only thing that matters is tomorrow.”

Milan sit third in Serie A with 52 points from their 24 games. The Rossoneri will face Sampdoria in their next league game on Sunday.
