An injury has prevented the Swede from participating in his side’s last two outings, but he is now supposedly set to return to action.

AC Milan, who were favorites to win the Serie A title not too long ago, now find themselves struggling to get into top-four.

Milan have managed just two wins in their last five league matches, with the most recent result being an embarassing 3-0 defeat against Lazio on Tuesday. They have slipped to fifth in the Serie A standings, though they are level on points with fourth-placed Juventus, and third-placed Napoli.

The Rossoneri have been in dire form lately, and the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic hasn’t exactly helped.

Ibrahimovic was absent from each of his side’s last two defeats due to a calf injury. He last played in the 3-1 win against Parma, and a red card picked up in the match forced him to sit out the subsequent match against Genoa.

However, as per La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia), the striker is set to return to action in Saturday’s outing against Benevento.

The ageless Swede’s return will present a huge boost for Milan, who do not have long left to try and secure Champions League qualification.
