The Italian giants have been incredibly consistent in their performances this season.
Napoli are the main favourites to claim the Champions League title this season, according to former Milan star Ruud Gullit.
The Blues have stayed at the top of the Serie A table throughout the season, suffering only one defeat. Luciano Spalletti’s side have fended off competition from the likes of Milan and Inter with their impressive attacking form.
In the Champions League, Napoli qualified for the last-16 round as the Group A leaders ahead of Liverpool. As Spalletti’s men prepare to take on Eintracht Frankfurt in their first knock-out-stage match, Gullit believes they can go all the way in the elite competition.
“In a television broadcast I said that Napoli are the favourites to win the Champions League. I haven’t changed my mind,” the Dutchman told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“They play a style of football that we all like to see; fast, rapid and vertical.
“The English clubs are strong, the same for Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid are capable of crazy feats, but this Napoli team are totally different.”
Napoli haven’t won the Serie A title since Diego Maradona led them to domestic glory in 1990. In Europe, the Blues once claimed the UEFA Cup but have never managed to reach past the round of 16 in the Champions League.
