According to a report, Ibrahimovic is responding well to treatment and a timeline has been given to when he could be back on the pitch.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has responded well to the treatment and could return to action for Milan against Cagliari on January 18.

The veteran forward was reportedly at Milanello on Wednesday and carried out a medical examination to assess the final recovery period for his calf injury.

As per Tuttosport, Ibrahimovic received good news from the check and could be back in time for the Serie A match against the Rossoblu in mid-January.

The report claims he could even return for the Coppa Italia game against Torino six days earlier, barring any setbacks. However, the game against Cagliari looks more certain for his return.

Ibrahimovic has been out since the 3-1 win against Napoli in November when he scored a brace against Gennaro Gattuso’s men.

In his absence, Milan have remained unbeaten in the league but have seen their lead at the top reduced to just one point.

Goals have come hard for the Rossoneri of late and the potential return of Ibrahimovic will come as good news for Pioli and the club at large.
