The Arsenal outcast has been linked with a January exit across Europe and the United States.
Mesut Ozil’s brother has dropped a big hint on social media over the star’s future by posting an image of the Fenerbahce crest on Instagram Stories.
The latest reports claim Ozil is in talks over a loan move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce. But Arsenal’s reluctance to pay any of his £350,000-a-week wages while he is in Turkey has allegedly put the transfer in doubt.
Neither player nor club has commented on these rumors so far.
But Ozil’s brother, Mutlu, has hinted Fenerbahce have finally got their man by sharing a picture of the club’s crest along with a winking face emoji.
Ozil, who hasn’t played since March last year, was left out of Mikel Arteta’s squad for the first half of the 2020/21 campaign. His absence has coincided with Arsenal’s poor start, prompting calls for the manager to recall him.
The Gunners manager hasn’t ruled out a comeback for the second half of the season yet, but it’s understood the club board would like to rid themselves of Ozil’s huge wage bill.
Reports have also linked MLS club DC United as an alternative destination for Ozil.
