The Atletico Madrid star has revealed a recent private chat with Messi.

Lionel Messi left Barcelona after 21 years to join Paris Saint-Germain. The Argentine has displayed flashes of his brilliance, but he is still far from his best form. His performance in PSG’s goalless draw against Nice attracted widespread criticism from French media.

Nonetheless, Messi won the seventh Ballon d’Or of his career last week. Luis Suarez, who is one of the Argentine’s best friends, handed him the prize at the ceremony.

In a new interview, Suarez has spoken about Messi and his current situation at PSG.

He told TNT Sports“We talk every day. We always try to avoid expectations because we are players and we know how we have to act in those moments, we talk about the games, about the family.

“He told me that when he is playing in the cold, he suffers a lot and with the snow.

“You have to get used to what the cold weather there is like, sure.

“It was difficult feelings for us both to face each other at the Camp Nou.

“On the other hand, when we play for Uruguay against Argentina it is different, they are always beautiful games and having Leo as a rival is difficult and complicated.”

On Saturday, Messi and his teammates will face Lens in their next league game. They will then prepare to meet Club Brugge in a Champions League game three days later.
