The legendary pair have moved a step closer to being crowned Player of the Century and Player of the Year in the Globe Soccer Awards.
The Globe Soccer Awards have announced Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi made the final four-man shortlist for Player of the Century award and the three-man shortlist for Player of the Year.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Globe Soccer ceremony will go ahead on December 27 and dish out its annual awards for the best players, coaches, and agents of a calendar year.
Sadio Mane, Serge Gnabry, Marquinhos, Karim Benzema, and Ciro Immobile have been cut from the latest shortlist for the Player of the Year award.
It leaves six-time winner Ronaldo, one-time winner Messi, and Robert Lewandowski as the sole candidates left to compete for the crown of the best footballer of 2020.
The shortlist for the Player of the Century (from 2001 to 2020) award, on the other hand, has been cut from 28 nominees to just four in Ronaldo, Messi, Mohamed Salah, and Ronaldinho.
Fans from around the world can vote for their favorite candidate out of the shortlists below. To cast your vote, all you have to do is visit the Globe Soccer website and select your pick.
