Before this evening, the Catalan midfielder had the record of most official matches played for a single Spanish club in history. Second to him was Messi with 766 but that changes today as Barcelona take on Huesca.

But this is nothing more than another part of Leo Messi’s already impressive career that will keep on bridging records to break. For the next match, Lionel will become the all-time player with the most matches played for a single Spanish club.

Not everything is lost for all those Blaugrana supporters who are begging their captain to stay at the club.
