Reports say Messi is pushing for a move to Manchester City with a potential reunion with Pep Guardiola on the cards.

As per Spanish outlet Marca, Messi failed to report to the training ground with teammates for the squad’s testing ahead of a return to full activity.

The Barca captain usually arrives alongside Luis Suarez but the Uruguayan was alone on Sunday morning. Ronald Koeman, Gerard Pique and Antoine Griezmann were other faces that arrived for tests of their own.

As per the report, Messi was advised by his legal team not to show up for the tests as he strengthens his claim for an exit.

La Pulga still maintains he can leave via a clause in his current deal that allows him to terminate his contract.

On the other hand, Barcelona insist they must receive the €700m release clause from any club that wants to sign Messi. The case might end up having to be settled in court.
