Marcus’ father, Lilian Thuram, played for Barcelona for two years.
Marcus Thuram has revealed a childhood interaction with Lionel Messi at Barcelona.
When Lilian Thuram joined the Catalans from Barcelona in 2006, Messi was at the very beginning of his legendary career at Camp Nou.
The Argentine superstar had a brief interaction with his teammate’s son, Marcus, who had come to see his dad in training.
“When I was 10 I went to see my father’s training session in Barcelona and I didn’t have boots,” Thuram said in an interview with DAZN.
“Messi was young, and after training I wanted to go to the pitch with the other children to play. Leo was wearing almost the same shoes size as me.
“Messi lent me his boots, I played and then he told me ‘take them’. At 10 years old, I didn’t realize what had just happened, so the next day I gave them to a friend. I regret it.”
Marcus Thuram followed his dad’s footsteps as he moved to Serie A in the summer transfer window. The striker’s brilliant start at Inter has seen him make 12 direct goal contributions in his 12 matches for the Nerazzurri.
