To this day, the Argentine has never felt more connected to any other manager more than he did with Pep. It’s always been a question we all wanted to ask him. What makes Guardiola the best manager Messi ever had? Jordi Evole got around to asking him this question and Messi explained in detail why he thinks this is the case.
However, the Barcelona captain also mentioned Luis Enrique on the same level as Pep. After all, he did win his second treble under the current Spain manager. Messi is still trying to find the ideal manager who can help him finish his career with as many trophies as he can. But we suspect he might never find a similar connection to the one he had with Pep.

In the clip they released, Messi talks about Guardiola’s many virtues and what makes him special. “Pep has something special. He makes you see things in one way: how he prepares for matches, defensively, how to attack… he told you exactly how the match was going to be, how you had to attack to win.
“I was lucky, in quotation marks, to train under Guardiola and Luis Enrique, the two best. Having them made me grow a lot physically and mentally, and also the tactical wisdom they’ve taught me.”
