In an interview published by Sport, Lionel Messi put all doubt to rest by calling for all Barcelona supporters and players to stick together.

Over the last couple of weeks, Lionel Messi sent messages to the Barcelona board as a declaration of war. In doing so, the Argentine player failed to realize that several club supporters disapproved of his behavior. This isn’t the way a Barça captain should go about any situation and Leo finally understood the consequences of his actions.

After several days of bad blood between him and the board, Leo decided to call off his attacks. He extended an olive branch through an interview on Sport as he chose to be the better man. Messi previously proved he wouldn’t hurt his beloved club by going to trial against it, now he does it again by cooling things down.

The star even apologized to all supporters who felt offended by his behavior and decided to start looking forward. This suggests Messi will be smiling on the pitch again. It also fills all Barcelona supporters with the hope that this season can be different in many aspects.

Messi accepts his mistakes.

Our conclusion is that Leo saw that Ronald Koeman is working hard with the players he has, and he decided to follow him. The Argentine knows how much ruckus he caused within the club but he also gets that it’s all in the past. He spoke directly to the supporters in a Sport interview.

“After so many confrontations, I would like to move forward from everything that happened. All us Barcelona fans must stick together and think that the best is yet to come. I accept my mistakes. If they existed, I made them while always thinking about the club’s best interest and hoping Barcelona could become a better club.

“By adding passion and team hope is the only way we can reach our targets, always together and pushing forward in the same direction. I wanted to send a message to all associates and supporters that follow us. If any of them felt offended by anything I said or did, please know that I did it while thinking about the club’s future and best interest.”
