Jamie Carragher has taken a swipe at Liverpool after the Reds suffered a shock defeat to Fulham at Anfield.

Jamie Carragher has ridiculed his old club Liverpool as their dramatic decline continued with a sixth straight defeat at Anfield.

The Reds were more or less second best all through the game and Fulham deservedly won all three points.

A number of changes from Jurgen Klopp didn’t produce the expected result at Anfield.

It was a drab game where Liverpool had only three shots on target for the entire 90 minutes.

Another poor result now leaves the reigning champions in seventh place, and Carragher has given his assessment on how bad his former side have declined.

“Jurgen Klopp previously called this team mentality monsters and that was absolutely right at the time,” he told Sky Sports.

“But right now they are like mentality midgets. This team is just not dealing well with adversity at any point in the last four months.”

“And that’s just not acceptable at Liverpool.”

There is little time for Liverpool to dwell on the loss to Fulham. Despite a 2-0 lead, they still have it all to do against Leipzig in the second leg of their Champions League encounter in midweek.
