Mbappe posts a touching message of Messi

Kylian Mbappe may have won the duel in the Champions League this week, but the Frenchman was quick to show his respect for Lionel Messi.

The 22-year-old scored in both legs in the recent Champions League last-16 tie between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona to help his club win 5-2 on aggregate, with an impressive four goals to his name.

Messi was also on target in each of the two meetings played between February and March to score both of Barcelona’s goals.

The pair have now faced each other three times across their respective careers, with Mbappe also getting the better of Messi in the 2018 World Cup.

Rather than rub it in his face, however, the young striker instead showed respect by uploading a touching message on his Instagram account.

“Thanks football to give me this opportunity to live this dream every day,” Mbappe wrote on Instagram stories alongside an image of himself with Messi.
