Many consider the 22-year-old as the natural successor to the Gunners icon as the finest French forward of his generation.

Kylian Mbappe is “the king of his own kingdom”, says Thierry Henry as he refuses to be drawn on talk of comparisons between himself and the Paris Saint-German star.

Mbappe has forged his reputation as one of the most exciting talents in the world ever since joining Paris Saint-Germain back in 2017.

The former Monaco man has also earned success at the world stage, having led France to World Cup glory in 2018.

Many find strong similarities between Mbappe and Henry, who also guided Monaco to the league title in his early years and went on to win a plethora of major honors after jumping ships. Henry is widely regarded as one of the best attackers of his generation while Mbappe is tipped to become the best player in the world.

However, the former Arsenal and Barcelona man is reluctant to compare himself with the PSG forward.

“I don’t like to compare different players and different eras,” said Henry, speaking to UMM.

“I think he’s the king of his own kingdom. I had my time, he’s having his time. I’m just happy he’s French!

“He’s the king of his own kingdom and I love that about him. He’s a great player and I support him.”
