Surprising reports have emerged of the Frenchman’s ‘broken’ relationship with the club.

Kylian Mbappe has reportedly asked Paris Saint-Germain to allow his exit this winter.

The Frenchman ended a two-year transfer saga by signing a new three-year deal with PSG in May. However, his relationship with the club has only deteriorated since then.

According to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Mbappe wants to leave PSG “as soon as possible”.

A power struggle in PSG’s squad has seen Mbappe’s relationship with Neymar getting worse in recent months. The France international then publicly criticized Christophe Galtier’s tactics, which didn’t receive a strong response from the newly-appointed manager.

Marca has claimed Mbappe’s relationship with PSG has ‘completely broken’, with the player now insisting on a January exit.

The Spanish source has speculated Liverpool, and not Real Madrid, will push to sign Mbappe this winter. However, other reports claim PSG are calm, knowing Mbappe is only trying to put the club under pressure.

“He annoys everyone”

The shocking reports regarding Mbappe’s future have triggered a widespread reaction from football fans and pundits.

Former France international Emmanuel Petit has criticized Mbappe for his self-centred attitude at PSG.

“In recent weeks, I find him off-topic in his communication,” the former Arsenal midfielder told RMC Sport. “I find that he is moving more and more from the central subject, which is the game and the pitch. He is making it more and more a personal business.

“Of course, I hear rumours that promises have not been kept, but I want to tell him: ‘Kylian, grow up, that’s life.’

“It’s the same every day. You are made promises that no one keeps most of the time, does that mean you have to stop working and question everything? Of course not.

“It’s called everyday life, the life of grown-ups, that of adults. Kylian, the sooner you have solved your problems with yourself, the sooner your performance will be felt on the pitch and your relationships with the public and your team-mates will find a certain appeasement.”
