Kylian Mbappe is already a top-three player in the world and will very soon transition into being the very best, according to Louis Saha.

Kylian Mbappe first burst onto the scenes during his time at AS Monaco, helping them to the 2016/17 Ligue 1 title.

Mbappe’s breakthrough took him to Paris Saint-Germain, with the club initially acquiring him on loan before splashing €145 million to make his signing permanent.

The 21-year old Frenchman, who shows maturity, both physical and mental, well beyond his age, already boasts a lustrous CV with the 2018 World Cup triumph being his biggest success so far.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have heavily influenced the personal awards, especially the Ballon d’Or, in the last decade. 11 of the last 12 Golden Balls have been shared between them.

Widely considered as the successor to Ronaldo and Messi, Mbappe is expected to not only break this Ballon d’Or duopoly but also dominate it in the coming years.

“Kylian Mbappe is guaranteed to win the Ballon d’Or and it is only a matter of time until he is officially the best player in the world,” Louis Saha said on the Football Index Podcast.

“For me, Mbappe is already definitely in the top three players in the world right now.

“There is obviously a massive difference between him and Messi and Ronaldo, but this is because they have done it for 10 years. I do think that when Messi and Ronaldo end their careers, Mbappe will be their successor who dominates.”
