Speaking for the first time as an Inter Miami player, Blaise Matuidi details his ambitions to lift trophies with the MLS outfit.

After his exit from Juventus, Blaise Matuidi joined Inter Miami on a free transfer last month.

However, the World Cup winner had to wait a bit before he was allowed to meet up his new teammates.

As per the necessary line of action, Matuidi had to complete his US visa and coronavirus quarantine regulations.

With all of that now sorted, the 33-year-old officially turned up at the club’s training ground earlier today. It was the first time he was pictured in the club’s jersey.

Given his age and experience, Matuidi is well familiar with winning trophies by now. Starring for PSG and then Juventus, the 33-year-old got used to winning trophies just about almost every season.

Now in new surroundings in the MLS, the Frenchman insists he wants to continue his trophy-winning record and would give his best to make that happen for Inter Miami.

Speaking for the first time in the club’s jersey, Matuidi was quoted by France24:

“I am really happy to be here. To be with this team. I am excited for this new challenge for me. My objective is to win trophies with this team and work hard, help the team to be better and better. I know to win it’s a long way and I have to improve with the team, and we have to work hard for that.”

“For me the most important objective is to bring the experience that I gained from the top European teams to help my teammates and this new club. I’m always going to give my best effort, my maximum to improve the team and set a good example like I always did in my previous clubs.”

Matuidi had offers from other clubs and also added on what convinced him to join David Beckham at Inter Miami.

“I am very excited for this new challenge.” he added.

“What excited me the most to come here is the ambition of this club to grow, and to add my stone to the structure, most importantly to contribute by giving my best effort. That’s what I am trying to do.”

” The first training session was very good. I am very happy to be with the team. It took some time and I had to work on my own, and finally I am with them. I hope to be fit and ready to play as soon as possible to play with the team.”

Matuidi now has the all-clear to make his debut on Sunday when they take on Nashville SC. Inter Miami are rooted to the bottom of the MLS standings and the arrival of an experienced midfielder is just what they need.
