After earning his most recent award, Mason Greenwood spoke about his progression as a Manchester United footballer.

Mason Greenwood has been awarded as the Player of the Month of August after his latest performances for Manchester United. Three goals in the first three games of the season are more than enough to earn him this accolade. He was obviously thrilled for the achievement but he is also reserved when it comes to celebration. Greenwood is well aware that the season is only getting started and inside competition will only get more difficult.

Especially after Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival at the club. The return of CR7 might take some important minutes out of Mason Greenwood due to his youth. However, the kid is mainly focused on learning from the best and Ronaldo is at the very top of the food chain. During a sitdown with the club’s website, Greenwood reacted to getting this award and looks forward to the future.

Greenwood is buzzing for this award.

As per Manchester United’s website, this is what Greenwood said: “Yeah, it’s been a good start obviously. Three games and three goals, it’s something I’ve been wanting to do. I’ve been wanting to score goals from the start. I had a bit of a slow start last season but hopefully I can kick on. Probably the Leeds one [stands out most], to be fair, back at Old Trafford. It was amazing. The fans were going crazy, so that one is special to me.

“It makes [winning the award] a little bit more special for the fans voting for me. I’d like to thank all of them and it means the world to me to win this award and, hopefully, we can kick on as a team and get some more wins. No, I don’t like to think about scoring. I don’t like to think about scoring really, I just like to go out in the game, feel relaxed and if I score, I score. It makes me happy but I don’t like to think about it sometimes.”
