Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard is ready to hit the ground running for Real Madrid as they play their opener vs Real Sociedad.

Real Madrid will play their first game of the season this weekend. The club will feature Martin Odegaard to go against his former side Real Sociedad.

The Norwegian player has returned to full training for Zinedine Zidane’s side, according to a report in Diario AS. Odegaard is available and will be attending the San Sebastian trip.

Odegaard had previously had a medical checkup at the training complex on Friday at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas. The right knee injury caused him severe pain during the final weeks of the 2019-20 season.

The discomfort of the knee injury has left the Norwegian player out of the squad. And forced to sit out the pre-season friendly game against Getafe prior this week. The midfielder has earned roars of approval from his teammates in the pre-season training. He appears to have shaken off his issues.

As MARCA revealed, Real Madrid’s primary care physicians have been monitoring the condition of Odegaard’s knee for quite a while now. This was something they were additionally aware of while he was on loan at Real Sociedad.

The 21-year-old Norwegian player has returned to the Spanish capital. They took over and the player turned up on Friday for a check-up.

Madrid confirmed his return from La Real a month ago. Odegaard is ready to challenge for a regular starting slot in the Zinedine Zidane’s side this season.

The midfielder scored seven goals for Real Sociedad last season, as well as sharing a similar playing style to that of Luka Modric. But making a strong impact against Sociedad will give him a chance to impress Zinedine Zidane. And give him the opportunity to move ahead and could even be played in the front three.

Given that Real Madrid is not looking into signing any new players this summer. Odegaard is the most important addition to Zidane after his incredible season at Real Sociedad.

Isco, Marco Asensio, and Eden Hazard are major doubts for the conflict.
