The Gunners skipper has less than two years left on his contract and reportedly had interest from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Martin Odegaard has said he hopes to stick around at Arsenal for a “long time”.

The 24-year-old midfielder’s contract is up in the summer of 2025. Arsenal want to tie him to a long-term extension, but the player has no news to share on that front.

Nonetheless, Odegaard is happy in London and remains an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

“I don’t have much to say, apart from the fact that I am very happy at Arsenal,” he told Nettavisen about the prospect of a new Gunners contract.

“I hope I can be there for a long time. Beyond that, I have no comment right now. Now, it is the national team that is in focus.”

Odegaard was in action for Norway in Tuesday’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Georgia. He scored the decisive second goal of the game to seal a 2-1 win for the Lions in Oslo.

Now the international break is over, Odegaard will report back to Arsenal, who will visit Everton this Sunday in the Premier League.
