It is time to have a look at the UEFA Champions League Group C fixture between Marseille and Manchester City. We have the Player Ratings.
Manchester City outperformed opposition Marseille in their second Champions League fixture. Subsequently, Pep Guardiola’s men beat the Ligue team by 3-0 at Orange Velodrome.
In the 18th minute, Ferran Torres slotted the opener for City. Evidently, a Marseille mistake saw Kevin De Bruyne free who then squared a nice ball to the Spaniard.
Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus missed the game due to an injury crisis. Therefore, Torres was allotted with a central role that came to success.
Marseille on the other hand, continued trying to suppress a strong City side. However, late in the second half, Guardiola’s men found the net for the second time with a beautiful team-play.
Raheem Sterling this time assisted the ball to Ilkay Gundogan who made no mistake to slot it past Steve Mandanda.
Although, the game was not over yet for City. Yet again, De Bruyne displayed his passing abilities with a low cross to Sterling who put it in the empty net.
