Child rights are at the center of Marcus Rashford’s life goals and he is working hard for another win for the underprivileged.

When he was young, Marcus Rashford was lucky to be at a school where free meals were provided.

During the coronavirus pandemic, these free meals were off the table for underprivileged youth and Rashford lobbied hard to get them repealed. The England attacker is back at it, and has set up a task force to fight the good fight.

The Manchester United talisman sent another open letter to all MPs, making three policy recommendations.

He wants expansion of free school meals to every child from a household on universal credit or equivalent. This will allow the program to reach an additional 1.5 million children aged between seven and 16.

Moreover, there is a demand for ‘expansion of holiday provision to support all children on free school meals, reaching an additional 1.1 million children.’

Rashford has also asked for the Healthy Start vouchers’ value to be increased to £4.25 per week from £3.10. Through this, an additional 290,000 pregnant women and children under the age of four will be reached.

“We had to think about the best way to do it, to think about how these families can eat long term and not have any issues,” MUFC quoted Rashford.

“We wanted to do it the best way we could, by introducing the best people into our group and using them to push it even more.

”At times, I feel that people think they are being looked down on if they ask for help. I think, in this generation, that is something that should change.“

“You should feel free if you want to ask for help for anything. Hold your head up high and if you need help, go and get help,” he added.
