The Spaniard is spending his debut season at Stamford Bridge after arriving from Brighton last summer.
Marc Cucurella has backed Mykhaylo Mudryk to become a world-class player at Chelsea.
The Blues completed an £89m move for the Ukrainian star in the January transfer window. However, he has found a slow start to life in west London, scoring only once across all competitions.
Mudryk’s transfer fee has put immense pressure on him to help Chelsea bounce back from their poor run of results. But Cucrella believes he might need more time to adapt to his new club.
Speaking to Goal, the Spaniard was asked who would be the most valuable weapon for Chelsea in the future.
“Maybe Mudryk,” he responded. “[he] is so fast and has a lot of skills, I think he’s a really, really good player.
“He has the quality to be, in a few years, a top player in the world, he needs to learn and stay happy in his new club.”
Mudryk came close to joining Arsenal at the beginning of the winter transfer window. But the Gunners failed to edge out Chelsea in the transfer race to sign him from Shakhtar Donetsk.
In an interview with Football Ramble, Shakhtar chief Darijo Srna claimed Mudryk is “not in a good mood” since joining the Blues.
“The market decided the price, not me or our president,” he said. “Mudryk is one of the best players in Europe in his position after Mbappe or Vinicius then it’s Mudryk.”
The Shakhtar official added: “Unfortunately, at Chelsea now he’s not in a good mood. But he has all the qualities to be one of the best players in the Premier League in the next couple of years.”
