Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that one of Manchester United’s summer signings is ready to make his first appearance for the senior squad.
After the Red Devils spent €10 million on a youngster, the fans have been waiting to see why the club made such an investment. It seems the wait is over, as Solskjaer reveals the 18-year-old Uruguayan is ready for his debut.
Facundo Pellistri joined Man Utd from Penarol on a five-year contract after a busy deadline day. Although the fans were disappointed as the club failed to sign Jadon Sancho, Pellistri’s transfer seemed to soften the blow.
The Uruguayan showed great signs at the Under-23’s squad and has been training with the first-team. However, he is yet to make his debut.
At his pre-match press conference, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed Pellistri is ready to play in the Premier League.
“Facundo has come in, trained with the first-team, and done well,” said the Norwegian gaffer. “We felt now is the time for him to get game-time and he’s played a couple of games in the Reserves. He’s gradually settling in nicely and getting more and more used to us.”
Manchester United will be facing West Ham in London tomorrow afternoon. Although the official squad list hasn’t been disclosed, it is likely Pellistri will feature in it.
