Mount’s calf injury is added to Erik ten Hag’s squad issues at Old Trafford.
Manchester United is facing another injury setback as midfielder Mason Mount is set to miss several crucial fixtures due to a calf injury.
The 24-year-old will be absent from the upcoming match against Everton, adding to the injury concerns for manager Erik ten Hag, who is already without key players like Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, Amad Diallo, and Tyrell Malacia.
According to Evening Standard, Mount’s fresh calf problem could keep him sidelined for up to a month, making him unavailable for the critical Champions League clash against Galatasaray and subsequent matches against Newcastle, Chelsea, Bournemouth, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and West Ham leading up to Christmas.
The December 6 encounter with Chelsea was anticipated to be a significant moment for Mount, marking his first face-off against his former club.
This injury setback is not the first for Mount, who had previously missed action at the end of August due to another injury.
With Marcus Rashford also suspended for the upcoming Champions League fixture, Manchester United faces a challenging period with a depleted squad. The Red Devils, however, are planning to bolster their ranks with new signings in the January transfer window.
