The Danish star is out of action after suffering a hamstring issue just before the international break.

Erik ten Hag expects Rasmus Hojlund to return to Manchester United’s training next week.

The striker picked up a hamstring injury in United’s 1-0 victory over Luton Town on November 11. The incident saw Hojlund miss out on Denmark’s matches against Slovenia and San Marino. However, he seems to have edged closer to making his comeback in the coming days.

“Rasmus Hojlund, not too bad. Everton will be a close finish but we’re working on that,” Ten Hag told Premier League Productions.

“We’re not sure if he can make that but, hopefully, in the next week, he will return to the squad.”

Hojlund’s Denmark teammate Christian Eriksen also stayed at Manchester during the international break. Having sustained a knee injury, Eriksen will have to remain out of action for “some weeks”, according to Ten Hag.

Manchester United’s squad issues worsened with the injuries of Andre Onana and Marcus Rashford during the international break. However, the pair will most likely return to action against Everton this weekend.

Following their return to the Premier League, United will prepare to face Galatasaray in a crucial Champions League clash on Wednesday.
