The Morocco international joined the Red Devils after completing a loan move from Fiorentina in the summer.

Erik ten Hag has reportedly changed his mind over Manchester United’s possible move to offer Sofyan Amrabat a permanent deal.

United’s personnel issues in midfield convinced them to sign Amrabat on a loan deal following his incredible displays in the Qatar World Cup. The Moroccan star has made ten Premier League displays for the Red Devils so far this season. But it seems that his performances haven’t convinced Ten Hag to consider a permanent transfer.

According to Sky Sports, Ten Hag is not keen to trigger an option to keep Amrabat at Old Trafford beyond the current season.

Similar to goalkeeper Andre Onana, Amrabat is set to leave United for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in the coming days. Upon his return, the 27-year-old will face more competition to secure a starting spot under Ten Hag as Casemiro and Mason Mount return from long-term injuries.

The Red Devils are also heavily linked with a move for Benfica’s Joao Neves. However, the Portuguese side have insisted that they want to keep the young midfielder at least until the end of the season.

Following a promising win over Aston Villa, United take on Nottingham Forest in their next league game before facing Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup.
