After a final day win over Wolves in the Premier League, Manchester United matched a prestigious unbeaten English record.

Manchester United have become the fourth team in English top-flight history to go an entire season unbeaten away from home.

A 2-1 final day win over Wolves at Molineux on Sunday ensured Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side completed the 2020/21 Premier League season without a single defeat on the road.

Just three teams have achieved this remarkable feat before in Preston North End in 1888/89 and Arsenal’s 2001/02 and 2003/04 squads.

In fact, Arsene Wenger’s legendary Invincibles team from 2003/04 went without a single defeat at home as well to stay unbeaten throughout the entire 38-match campaign.

“What an achievement,” Red Devils boss Solskjaer told BT Sport on the club’s historic landmark.

“Then again, our home form hasn’t been that great. But to go a season undefeated, that’s something we’ll be proud of.”

The last time United lost away from home in the Premier League was in a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in January 2020.

The 20-time English champions have since gone 26 league games unbeaten on the road, managing 17 wins and nine draws.

The triumph in Molineux, though, was an especially satisfying one. Solskjaer fielded a heavily changed side to face Wolves, with the likes of Hannibal Mejbri and Will Fish making their senior debuts.

Despite the changes, Anthony Elanga’s first goal for the club and Juan Mata’s penalty ensured a 2-1 win.

United are now preparing for Wednesday’s Europa League final against Villarreal.
