The Red Devils will have to play their next Premier League game without a key defender.
Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof will miss his side’s upcoming match against Bournemouth due to injury.
Lindelof has played alongside Harry Maguire at the heart of United’s backline in recent weeks. However, the Swede international left the pitch with an injury in his side’s mid-week victory over Chelsea.
On Friday, Erik ten Hag confirmed that Lindelof is not fit to play for the Red Devils against Bournemouth. The nature of the 29-year-old’s injury has not yet been determined, but most reports in the English media have claimed that his issue is not serious.
Who will replace Lindelof?
In the game against Chelsea, Luke Shaw had to fill in for Lindelof’s absence in the second half. However, Ten Hag will have more options to choose from for the Bournemouth match.
Rafael Varane is back from a back issue that kept him out of the squad against Chelsea. Jonny Evans has also participated in full training and is available for selection.
Another squad boost is the return of Amad Diallo from a severe knee injury that has kept him out of action so far this season. Diallo has returned to training but won’t be fit to make his return against Bournemouth on Saturday.
