The United captain scored a last-minute winner to relieve the pressure on Erik ten Hag.

Bruno Fernandes has urged his Manchester United teammates to “work harder” after their dramatic victory over Fulham.

United went into the game on the back of consecutive defeats against Manchester City and Newcastle. Despite having the bigger share of the goalscoring chances throughout the game, United had to wait until the last minute to finally score the match-winner.

Fernandes, who came under fire for his poor display in the Manchester derby, scored another crucial goal for the Red Devils as they climbed to sixth spot on the league table.

Speaking after the game, the Portugal international told TNT: “We could create more chances but we still had good chances. First half, we had control of the game, the second half was a more divided game but I think the biggest chances were always on our side and I think we deserved the win.

“It’s about the team and what everyone does on the pitch. Everyone has to sacrifice, run, work harder. Even on the goal, you could see everyone working hard to get the ball and that’s what makes the goal.”

United will now prepare for a crucial Champions League game against Copenhagen on Wednesday.
