In the fall out of Manchester United’s 1-6 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, a player stands as the culprit of an infamous half-time row.

Manchester United’s 1-6 defeat has many consequences after it happened, but there’s a player who started heated arguments with his teammates. The Athletic revealed an intense exchange between the players at half-time, when the match was already 1-4. It was reported that Bruno was the one who started pointing fingers at his teammates and things got heated up very quickly.

The Portuguese midfielder has a reputation for being a sore loser, which can also be described as a player who always likes winning. This same attitude is the kind that Manchester United has been lacking since Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney left the club.

Although some of the players didn’t agree with Bruno’s approach, it’s clear that a cathartic moment like this was desperately needed inside the dressing room. Perhaps this painful loss can be the start of a new chapter at Manchester United. Let’s also keep in mind that another winner, Edinson Cavani will be part of the squad this season too.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer defends Bruno.

After the match, Solskjaer saw all the commotion that Bruno’s words had on the outside. This is not the first time the Portuguese player recriminates his teammates, he also did it at Sporting CP. For Solskjaer, this attitude is positive for the rest of the players and it challenges them to improve on a daily basis.

Ole said this about Bruno in a press conference: “He works hard, he is humble enough, he’s got the desire and commitment, but he’s also got the X-factor. He is a risk-taker, he’s got the courage to make mistakes and if you make enough mistakes it’ll be corrected into fantastic assists or goals.

“You need a character here, you need character at this club, but this team they have got that. They have learned through some hard times this season, because we have been a young team and we have started something we believe in and Bruno has helped that.”
