The Athletic revealed an intense exchange between the players at half-time, when the match was already 1-4. It was reported that Bruno was the one who started pointing fingers at his teammates and things got heated up very quickly.
The Portuguese midfielder has a reputation for being a sore loser, which can also be described as a player who always likes winning. This same attitude is the kind that Manchester United has been lacking since Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney left the club.
Although some of the players didn’t agree with Bruno’s approach, it’s clear that a cathartic moment like this was desperately needed inside the dressing room. “You need a character here, you need character at this club, but this team they have got that. They have learned through some hard times this season, because we have been a young team and we have started something we believe in and Bruno has helped that.”
