The Red Devils fell behind inside the opening 20 minutes of the match but, what has become a habit for them, sealed a comeback win.
Manchester United beat Liverpool 3-2 at Old Trafford to advance to the FA Cup 5th round.
It was Liverpool who struck first. The hosts failed to close down the visitors and Mohamed Salah, after being played in by Roberto Firmino, turned and dinked the ball over Dean Henderson to five his side the lead.
The lead, though, was short-lived as United replied in under 10 minutes. Mason Greenwood found the equalizer, with the 19-year-old striker controlling Marcus Rashford‘s lovely cross-field ball and on his chest and sending the shot into the far bottom corner.
Greenwood turned provider and Rashford the scorer for the Red Devils’ next goal. The former beat Liverpool’s offside trap with a perfect pass and the latter who had a clear run at goal produced a confident finish.
Salah scored a second near the hour mark to give the Jurgen Klopp’s men some hope, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side was determined to beat their bitter rivals for a second time this season.
It was none other than Bruno Fernandes who netted the winner, scoring a superb free-kick after coming off the bench.
