The Red Devils reached the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after an easy home win.
Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 in their Carabao Cup match on Tuesday. A solid attacking display was enough to ensure the hosts’ victory over the Eagles.
What happened?
United struggled to establish their dominance early on but still managed to find the opener in the 21st minute. A deflected cutback from Diogo Dalot found Alejandro Garnacho, who found the back of the net with a precise finish.
Only six minutes later, Casemiro doubled United’s lead with a fantastic header. The pace of the game dropped significantly after United’s second goal, but the hosts pushed to increase their lead after the break.
It took Erik ten Hag’s men only ten minutes to score in the second half. This time, Casemiro sent an inch-perfect cross inside the box for Anthony Martial, who converted it into his first goal of the season with a first-time finish.
The Red Devils found a few more chances to score but settled for the 3-0 victory.
